Pressing Start: My Voicemod Adventure

Okay, picture this: fresh move to Spain, bright-eyed, and landing what felt like the dream job. Voicemod. A tech startup buzzing with energy, building something genuinely cool – a real-time voice changer for gamers. Seriously, how awesome is that? 🎮 Back then, it was this tiny (like, 7 of us tiny!) but mighty team cooking up something innovative. The vibe was electric.

It was the kind of place where creativity met tech head-on, a mix I absolutely live for. Jumping into that energy was incredible.

Getting Started: The V2 Hype Train

My first mission, should I choose to accept it (I totally did!), was to put on my Graphic Designer hat and help build the hype for the next big thing: Voicemod V2. This meant diving right into crafting visuals for marketing campaigns, making sure everything popped and grabbed attention.

🖌️ Icon Crafting 🎨

One of the first big tasks was designing a whole new icon set for the upcoming Soundboard feature. Making complex actions feel simple and intuitive through icons? Love that challenge. It’s like micro-problem solving with pixels!

🎤 Voice Reveal Videos 🎬

Got to blend my design skills with my love for sound! I created several videos to introduce the wild new voices V2 was bringing. Giving personality to sound through motion? Yes, please!

The 3 Million € Moment (And My Small Part!)

Then things got really interesting. Voicemod V2 wasn’t just a facelift; it was part of a bigger play. Soon after I joined, the company closed a €3 Million investment round. Honestly, this still gives me goosebumps. Why? Because the video I poured my energy into creating was the one used in the final investment pitch presentation. 🤯

🚀 Pitch Video Power! 💪

Knowing that my visual storytelling helped convince investors and played even a small role in securing Voicemod’s future… that’s a feeling that sticks with you. It was validation that design and video could make a real, tangible impact, helping launch Voicemod towards becoming the international player it is today. Super proud of that.

Growth Spurt: More Hats, More Impact

That investment kicked things into high gear. My role naturally expanded, and I got to wear even more creative hats, which was fantastic. I found myself diving into:

  • UI Elements & Animation: Contributing UI designs and slick little loading animations for the Voicemod Android app that was cooking. Bringing that visual polish to the mobile experience felt great.
  • Promo Videos: More video work, promoting the new Android app and creating tutorials on how to use Voicemod in different apps and games. Tailoring the message and visuals for a different platform was a cool challenge.
  • Brainstorming & Feedback: Being part of strategy and feedback meetings. Loved being able to throw ideas around and help shape features beyond just the visuals.
  • Voicemod Rebrand: Actively participating in the company’s official rebranding process. Seeing that evolve firsthand was invaluable.

Leveling Up, Together

Looking back, my time during the Voicemod V2 era was wild in the best way possible. Seeing that team explode from just 7 people to over 30, bringing in talent and perspectives from all over the world… it was something special. The energy was infectious, the learning curve was steep but rewarding, and it really solidified my love for working at the intersection of tech, gaming, design, and sound.

It was an amazing first chapter in Spain, an experience I definitely keep close to my heart. Wouldn’t trade it. ❤️
